Novant Health Valaoras & Lewis OB/GYN is proud to offer birth control and endometrial ablation procedures in our office. This means you can have these procedures completed in a familiar environment with a staff you know and trust.

Procedures we offer include:

NovaSure

NovaSure is a five-minute procedure that can lighten or end heavy periods. NovaSure uses radio frequency energy to remove the endometrium, the lining of the uterus that causes bleeding. NovaSure is a good solution for women who are done having children and want to put an end to heavy periods without hormones. To learn more about NovaSure, click here.

Nexplanon

With Nexplanon, up to three years of birth control can be achieved with one 4-centimeter-long implant. Nexplanon is placed under the skin on the inside of your upper arm. Your doctor will numb the skin on your arm before placing the implant. You will wear a bandage for about a day after Nexplanon is placed. It is not noticeable and is 99 percent effective. It works by continuously releasing progestin, a hormone that keeps your body from releasing an egg. The implant can be removed at any time, should you want to become pregnant.
